Extremis: Chapter 1

2,000 years ago, a man named Anthony Stark saved his life with an altered version of Extremis. This "virus" accesses the brain and alters it, convincing it that the body form is wrong, causing a cocoon to form. This signals one of the most astonishing of all metamorphosis ever. This change is the melding of man and machine. The following changes also occur: Increased stamina, increased strength, increased immune system, and the ability to connect to other machines. When Tony Stark died, it was believed Extremis died with him. We were wrong.
