Classic Metroid and seasons greetings

Sunday, 24 December 2006 at 06:08 GMT

TechEBlog posted a clip some time ago called the "Top 10 Worst Ways to Die in Video Games," a bit morbid sounding but fun none the less. Created by ScrewAttack (love the site theme :P), the classic Metroid rakes in one of the slots, as the voiceover notes that every single creature in the game - Samus included - explodes into tiny little broken pixels when blasted.

I also just want to make a quick note to thank everyone for their interest as to when we'll offer up guides for Metroid Prime 2, rest assured it's the next game I'll be working on. On that note, have a great holiday season everyone, enjoy the food, family, friends and whatever you celebrate this time of year (just try not to spend too much time on that shiny new Wii, unlike me, hehe).

Corruption delayed till late 2007?

Well this could be the nastier side of an otherwise brilliant Christmas season.... CVG reports "reliable sources" claiming that we won't see a release of Metroid Prime 3 (or Super Mario Galaxy) until late next year between October and December. Nintendo's confirmed that both titles are out next year, just when exactly is anyone's guess. No-one ever likes delays, but here's hoping Retro use it to beef up a Wii-console version of Metroid Prime Hunters' brilliant multiplayer madness to really set the Wii's online network off.

Just a quick note to mention the launch of our new community forums, just the spot to hang around and chat about the upcoming Metroid titles and reminisce about the classics. Why not join up and get involved in the discussions? Right now it's early days, but the more members we get the merrier. Enjoy!
