While Samus didn't technically say a word during the Prime trilogy, someone had to have provided all those incidental grunts and groans. Check out this great interview with Jennifer Hale, voice actress of not only Samus in her Prime days but a whole slew of other characters (Bastila Shan from Knights of the Old Republic was a great role, pity she never got any proper dialogue for Samus). On that note I've also furthered our manual scanning project, with the manuals for both Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2 ready and waiting.
As we wind down for the year, there's a few more interesting Metroid-related goodies popping up. Firstly, check out this amazing collection of hand-crafted Metroid plasticine figures from Claudio Esteban Ruiz Díaz. I've also cooked up a new and updated batch of desktop wallpapers (the space ones were inspired by the truly epic work of Greg Martin, and the old classic LucasArts adventure game The Dig certainly helped too).
There's still plenty of activity in the fangame world too, so be sure to check up on Metroid: SR388 (still as drop-dead gorgeous as ever), Project AM2R (their latest trailer beautifully combines Metroid II and Zero Mission) and Metroid: Alpha Hatch (the concept and in-game art for this one is very pretty).
2008's been a tough year for Samus with her only outing in Smash Bros. Brawl, so here's hoping Nintendo have something ready for 2009. Enjoy the festive season!
