Nintendo have kindly released a new batch of Metroid: Other M screenshots, be sure to check these out for an up-close-and-personal shot of Mother Brain and a separate shot of Adam Malkovich in combat armour. Looking good!

Two videos, a trailer and a logo

If you watch just one (or two) behind-the-scenes videos of Metroid: Other M's production, let it be the following two. Nintendo released the two videos below on the Japanese Nintendo Channel, but we're yet to see an official English translated version. That hasn't stopped the guys at the Metroid Database however, who have managed to kindly provide English subtitled versions. We see and hear quite a lot from Project M's leaders - Yoshio Sakamoto, Yosuke Hayashi and Ryuzi Kitaura, so be sure to have a look below (Direct links: Part 1 | Part 2).

Be sure to check out the spiffy new Japanese Nintendo Channel trailer below too - here we get to meet the Galactic Federation soldiers Samus encounters on the Bottle Ship and see plenty of new footage. The game is literally just over a month away from release, and it can't come soon enough!

I would also like to mention and give a massive thank-you to Aaron Grincewicz for the fantastic military-esque logo patch he designed for Metroid Recon (see below). This one literally took me by surprise and I'm honoured to display it here (and in its permanent home at the About the Site page). Thanks Aaron!

Metroid: Other M European release date

Friday, 9 July 2010 at 10:11 GMT

Nintendo have recently revealed in a press release the release date for Metroid: Other M in Europe: 3rd September 2010. Incredibly, that puts the game's release in North America, Japan and Europe all in the same week! After Nintendo's performance in recent years with delays between the world's regions, this is absolutely fantastic news and I truly hope to see them keep this up. Good times!

There's been a plethora of other news regarding Other M in recent days too, but I'm currently just too burnt out to cover it all, so head on over to the Metroid Database where they've got all the news covered nicely.
