Japan's recent plight

Flag of JapanBy now you've probably seen the devastation suffered in northern Japan from their largest earthquake on record - a magnitude 9 on the 11th March. As you would expect, the earthquake itself and the resulting deadly tsunami has unleashed unimaginable pain and suffering on the Japanese people - the news stories coming from Japan this past week are nothing short of heartbreaking. The nuclear plant disaster in Fukushima certainly hasn't helped.

I live in a part of the world relatively free of the threat of earthquakes and tsunamis, so I can't even begin to imagine the horror of it all. I'm sure I can speak for many in saying that our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the disaster, and if you can manage, please visit your local Red Cross charity and donate to the recovery efforts.

The guys at the MDb have posted a number of other charity-raising events, including a nice sale on the Zero Suit Samus statue and Echoes gunship at Play-asia.com. Please help out if you can!
