Once the brilliant white surrounding Samus dissolves, you'll find yourself smack inside the Leviathan's main command chamber. Looking like just what you'd expect of the innards of these numerous beings, the walls are covered with pulsating eyes, while a mechanical command station rests on the opposite side of the chamber. Peek through the machinery through an observation window - that's the massive Leviathan Core staring back at you.
But we need this thing alive for now, so no overloading the giant brain with Phazon energy. But you can't anyway, as a quick scan of the object reveals it invulnerable to all weaponry. But those roving eyes on the walls aren't. Scan them to reveal the objects as Leviathan optical organs - just how many eyes does thing need? Here's a tip - rack up a total of 60 hits on any of the eyes to score the bonus Leviathan Humiliated Friend Voucher.
Aurora 242 also chimes in again with more intel from 217. A planet has indeed been discovered at all the Leviathan's points of origin - Phaaze is real. Scan the mechanical terminal setup beside the Leviathan Core to learn that by interfacing with this equipment you'll be granted complete control over the entire organic vessel.
But there's a slight catch. To access this terminal you'll need a special Pirate Code - one found deep aboard the wreck of the GFS Valhalla. If you've been following this walkthrough then we've already been to visit the dead vessel and retrieved the code from the Control Room - otherwise you'll need to finish locating all nine Energy Cells out in the wild to reach the Control Room aboard the Valhalla.
If you picked up the Pirate Code before defeating Omega Ridley, Aurora 242 comments that the data's purpose is unknown, but if you need to pick it up now she'll confirm that it's purpose lies aboard this Leviathan. So with the Pirate Code in hand, interface with the terminal to enter the code and instantly take control of the gross starship - boy this Phazon technology is so vulnerable when used against itself.
With the Leviathan under Federation control and that eerie Phazon theme replaced with the determined Federation tune, time to return to solid ground. Admiral Dane chimes in with the latest - the Federation now has complete control of the Leviathan and is awaiting orders to open the wormhole to Phaaze. Step up to the teleporter and take a peek out the thin slits of the observation windows - visible outside lies the grand view of the Pirate Homeworld.
Step into the teleporter to return safely to the facility down on the planet. Once on solid ground, take the train at the next-door transit station back to the Command Station. Move through and return to your ship - climb aboard and be sure to save your game now. Along the way Aurora 242 will chime in with a warning - once you join the Federation on the journey to Phaaze - there's no turning back. Meaning no more save stations - we're now at this epic journey's end.
But before sailing ahead, if you've missed out on any remaining items feel free to track them down now - as for us in this walkthrough - we've only got a few more credits left to pick up here on the Pirate Homeworld (remember the Red Phaazoids?). There's swarms of Phaazoids taking up residence throughout the halls of the Pirate's base, so I'll make your life easier by pinpointing the Red Phaazoid's locations.
The first one's not too far away, along the Pirate Seed's cargo line. Climb aboard your ship and fly to the Transit Station Landing area to cut down on travel time if you wish. Feel free to have a quick chat to the pair of Demolition Troopers standing guard at the Seed tunnel's entrance - one comments on the weird glowing orbs inhabiting the region, while the other mentions the collapse of the Seed's tunnel.
Make your way through to Transit Station 0204 from here - along the way you'll face plenty of Phaazoid opposition. Among the pack in 0204 hides a Red Phaazoid - fill them with Hypermode Phazon energy to expose the Red Phaazoid and don't forget to pick up the gold credit once you're done clearing up.
Return to your ship for now - let's take a trip to the Mining Site. Touch down and feel free to have a chat to the pair of PED Marines keeping watch - these guys mention the presence of remaining Pirate forces in the area along with a harvester drone some pilots have been using for target practice. Move through to the Main Cavern chamber where you scored the Nova Beam (watch out for a roving Phazon Metroid in the Phazon Mine Entry).
Step around the corridor ahead and move through to Drill Shaft 1. A pair of Phaazoids await here among the now-inactive laser drilling equipment, so be sure to clear both out before moving on.
Exit this region up ahead to find yourself outdoors at the Phazon Harvesting region. Plenty of Phaazoids have taken up residence here (the Pirate base really has an epidemic of these orbs now). Start clearing them out to eventually reveal the rare Red Phaazoid - don't forget to pick up the gold credit it leaves behind.
Now you may remember that this region was once patrolled by a huge crab-like harvester drone, but where is it now? Simply leave the region and move two rooms away from here. Return to find the harvester back in full force, ready to fry you despite its masters' defeat. Quickly fire up the Command Visor - now with the planetary energy shield gone it's a sitting duck. Lock onto the icon hovering below the target and watch as your gunship swoops in, demolishing the hulky target with a well-placed bombing run.
A bonus Friend Voucher is now yours for the taking. That's it for this region of the Pirate base, so let's head back to Landing Site Charlie. Once there, climb aboard your ship and head for the Research Facility - this final hunt's almost done. Step off your ship upon arrival and feel free to chat with the pair of PED Marines stationed here.
We'll take Transit Station 1-A next door for a quick shortcut to the Proving Grounds (you may need to scan the terminal again to reactivate the hand scanner). Once there you'll discover a trio of Phaazoids loitering about. One of them conceals a Red Phaazoid - don't leave without clearing them all out and snagging the gold credit left behind.
Feel free to step out under the rain and look off the railing here to see just how big this region really is (notice the Phazon tentacles on the horizon are somehow still flailing about?). One Red Phaazoid left to discover, and thankfully it's not too far away. Ride the elevator downward and step through to the Craneyard. Exit here and descend the Airshaft, ignoring any Phaazoids along the way.
Step through to Metroid Processing and feel free to deal with the pair of loose Metroids giving you grief. Step through to the Creche Transit and move up to the Metroid Creche - home of a double-pair of Phaazoids. This isn't going to be easy - try not to waste too many Energy Tanks for Hypermode use and don't touch any tiny Phaazoids if you enter Corrupt Hypermode. Clear this mess out and finish the final Red Phaazoid to earn your final gold credit for now. Phew.
Blow open the nearby Phazon canisters in the Metroid Creche for health refills before starting the journey back to your ship. Once there, climb aboard and take a deep breath - this is the end of the line.
We've picked up all 100 items, filled up the Logbook, retrieved as many credits and Friend Vouchers as possible - and with all three Leviathan Seeds (four if you count that unlucky one above Norion) destroyed, there's only one thing left to do. Save your game now - last chance before determining the fate of the galaxy.
